When selling my apartment Agent Ethan Petrie from Ray White West End gave me fake offers, withheld the higher offers and then told me that the buyer had withdrawn an offer. As the Agents story didn't make sense I contacted the buyer myself - he said he made an original offer after our first open home which Agent Petrie presented as 65k less than what it was. The buyer informed us that he never withdrew his offer and had signed a contract for an increased offer which we were not presented with. Agent Petrie then emailed an offer 11k less than what the buyer had signed the contract the day before for. Agent Petrie did not tell me about the contract, or the true amount of the actual offer. While this was happening, Agent Petrie was using alarmist language with me to try and make me decrease the amount I wanted for my apartment – even below the offer I wasn’t told about. It would possibly appear that he was trying to get it for a friend or himself for a lower price. A week after the offer that I was not told about I was e-mailed a report from Agent Petrie informing us that he was "getting concerned that the price of offers that were coming through was around $540k". Keep in mind we had an offer 3 days in at 600k that we were never told about. Luckily, we had a copy of the the 600k offer which had been made a week prior and made as if it was a new offer emailed to us with the details of the buyer attached to it and we called him ourselves when we knew that Agent Ethan Petries stories no longer made sense. We contacted the buyer and found out about how Agent Petrie had told him that we had refused his first offer that we knew nothing of. We ended up closing the sale ourselves and confronted Agent Ethan Petrie who admitted to keeping the offers from the buyer from us. We signed the contract and kicked Agent Petrie out of our home and had no dealings with him after that. Do not trust him!

Ethan was professional in all that he did in selling our unit and achieving an acceptable price for the asset. Would recommend him to anyone wishing to sell in Kangaroo Point
