A genuine, sensible agent who delivered
We chose Frank after looking at various agents selling houses that were similar to ours. After meeting Frank, we felt assured that he had a good knowledge of our target market and could appreciate the distinguishing features of our home (new home in an old area). Frank was very calm, reassuring, and we appreciated he didn't exhibit the 'sales' type mentality you often see and hear about. He was very sensible in how we priced our home, and was very clear about how and when he would communicate with us (particularly as we would have permanently moved away from the region during the selling period). And he did everything he said he would do. What we also liked is that he was very conservative about not needing to over-advertising our property in order to save us money (e.g. no flashy street signs other than the real estate one). The costing arrangements and commission were reasonable particularly with no upfront cost to us for anything. In the end Frank sold our house in 4 weeks for a very respectable figure given the local economy. Our selling price was $30k over what another highly recommended agent had wanted to set as the ASKING PRICE, so we are thankful we met Frank as we would have otherwise undercut ourselves by around $50k. So if you want an agent who is genuine, knowledgeable, thorough, sensible and reliable, rather than flashy and salesy, we couldn't recommend Frank enough.
