At the time when we signed the contract, which is off-plan, George did not highlight that to us as such, nor did he provide a Disclosure Statement, which is required by NSW Fair Trading. This statement was only sent to my conveyancer later, who informed us that was the case. So we entered the contract without knowing that the contract was off-plan, and no ideas about the sunset clause and the sunset date. When we later found out the sunset date was far from our liking, George didn't seem to be interested in it and his main concern was for us to pay the balance of the 10% deposit. Not a good experience overall!

After convincing me and my partner that the owner had everything needed to get the approval from the council in order and will be done in two weeks, we now find ourselves out of a rising market, the only option to get out of the contract to pay $7,000 penalties. George got the owner the unconditional approval letter the seller needed to get his new purchase, we cannot settle on the property and may miss out on getting into the market if the process keeps going up, poor service, dishonest, not trustworthy, tells porkies to sell property.
