I've just counted the number of transactions we have concluded with you and it is 6, both buying and selling, apart from the property transactions you have satisfactorily concluded for our sons Brad and James. Once again you were spot on with your valuation and were able to sell the property in about 4 weeks in a declining market, with minimal cost. As always, you were honest with one prospective buyer who wasn't prepared to make a decision for another week, by telling them you had a buyer who wanted to proceed and that you didn't think the property would be available at that time. Obviously the unsuccessful buyer must have thought you were just another agent trying to get a better price for their vendor. We have been around long enough to accept that "A BIRD IN THE HAND"and that your honesty and integrity was beyond question. If I am being honest, I dont believe much of what an agent says to me when buying or selling. My wife and I had been to see our new house and went back for the next open to find several couples taking contracts and men measuring things and nice cars parked in the street and we figured we would be no chance at all. Gordon took me aside and said he wants us to have the house blah blah blah and i told him we werent going to offer what he was advertising but he asked me not to stuff around and put in my best offer and we would make it happen. We wanted the house but didnt want to low ball him offensively and put in an official offer where we felt comfortable. As he said, dont stuff around. He came back after consulting the vendors and needed a tiny bit more to get the deal done and we agreed and signed on the dotted line. He could have played around and told us the typical story of having another offer or similar but true to his word he got us our house. He may have had to convince the vendors that our family were the right people to have the keys but I appreciated that we were able to get our house at a price everyone would be happy with and Gordon didnt play silly games. I believe this kind of clear communication is fair for both buyer and seller and if you are planning on using Gorgon to sell your house, ask him his honest opinion and forget personal ties to your house. Its only actually worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
