'Team Ian’ got into some sort of spat with their previous employer at Amir Prestige and we got caught in the middle. Neither Ian or Amir Prestige would take full responsibility and communicate with us regarding things like pre-settlement inspections, general issues, or even something as simple as the location of the keys. When we finally got to inspect the property prior to settlement, the place was filthy and the garden overgrown as the owners vacated weeks ago. We were told signing the contract that it would be ‘spotless' but I guess you may want to get that in writing with some people. Upon voicing my concerns to Ian, he just placated me. Nothing got resolved. After the settlement inspection, Amir Prestige (because they had no idea where the keys were) just left the unoccupied property unlocked! I did a walk by a couple of days later and it was totally unsecured. Unbelievable. During this time, I had Ian calling me up complaining how Amir Prestige was trying to cut him out of the commission. Like how is this MY problem. I’m the BUYER. Unbelievable. You are crying to me over lost commission but won’t help get the property into an acceptable state of cleanliness prior to settlement? When we were finally told where we could collect the keys after calling around the offices of Amir Prestige and getting ghosted for most of the day (hours before settlement went through mind you)…..no congratulations, no gift basket, nothing. As for the Auction. If I was the vendor I would be pretty upset. They had no business letting it get to Auction with only two serious bidders. But I guess at least that incompetence actually worked out for us as we secured the property 130k under budget. They tried the whole call around the week of the Auction claiming to have multiple offers on the table and looking to sell pre-auction. Don’t fall for that old desperate move. There is nothing prestigious about our purchase from Amir Prestige. Bush League.
