Born, bred and educated on the Darling Downs, James is a passionate advocate of the area and is genuinely excited about the future that lies ahead for the region. Having grown up and worked in a family cropping enterprise on the inner downs (which still continues), he has an intimate understanding of grain and fibre production systems. He has a good knowledge of the various farming and grazing areas throughout the inner, central, southern and western downs and extending into northern New South Wales. Four years of work with a well-regarded local engineering consultancy firm, has also allowed James to gain a thorough understanding of the processes involved in land subdivision and property development projects. This experience includes: Council planning scheme policies, development applications and approvals, feasibility studies, design, tendering, contract administration and construction management.
