As a young first-home buyer, I trusted Janelle to be transparent and act in my best interests. However, I experienced hidden fees, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability once she was paid. Throughout the process of selling my apartment, fees were not clearly disclosed. I am a young person with no property experience, so I trusted Janelle to support me throughout this process. At settlement, I was hit with additional costs that she failed to mention. Furthermore, Janelle asked for a personal bonus if she sold it for a good price, which resulted in no financial gain for me and actually a loss of money. I feel taken advantage of. On top of this, Janelle has failed to reply to my messages since the sale, leaving my concerns completely unanswered. I would not trust this agent with the sale of your property if you want good profits.

‘Retracting the 5 star review’ posted prior to the property settlement. Janelle advised that the realestate costs were heavily discounted since she had sold the property to us less than 2 years earlier, therefore there was minimal information she needed to gather. She requested a $3k bonus if she achieved our desired sale price. However, at settlement, we discovered additional real estate fees that were never disclosed throughout the process, along with her bonus, leaving a young first homebuyer short of funds and significantly out of pocket:( and showed very little sympathy when questioned. Janelle appears to use her language barrier as a tactic and provides misleading information when convenient, for example telling the purchasers that we had renovated the property.

I chose Janelle Gu as she had achieved a record sales price in the same building and I needed a similar high price to achieve my financial goals. Janelle confidently took on the challenge from the outset. Janelle was always professional and demonstrated significant patience, working with a tenant that gave her limited access to show the property. She was very transparent with me on how the campaign was tracking and showed good humour in the face of disappointment. Whilst the result took longer than expected, her tenacity obtained the result I wanted, to the dollar. I highly commend and recommend Janelle Gu as a sale agent. Thank you Janelle.
