This was my 3rd house sale. One I particularly wanted to get right after having not great experiences in the past. This time I chose an unusual approach to selecting the agency for my house sale. I sourced 4 local agencies and sent the lead partner of each a request for proposal. The request was accompanied by information about my historic home and what I was particularly keen to understand from them to aid my decision. It was my attempt to bring a bit of science to what is a highly relational and emotive process. A major life event. I really wanted to work with an agency who understood what I was hoping for my home without feeling like I was being railroaded or smooth talked into some ultimately not great.
