Joe was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Joe was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He showed a particularly good knowledge of both the complex and the area we purchased in. He took the time to support with the many questions that we had. There were some unique points that Joe went above and beyond to ensure all parties were satisfied. We have no hesitation in recommending Joe!

Disillusioned sellers

Initially my husband and I were convinced by Joe of his market knowledge, of his interest in selling our beautiful Beaumaris home, and of his tenacity to get the price we wanted. I personally asked only 2 things prior to signing: 1. Don’t BS us or we’ll call it out. Be honest 2. Don’t do the sell down on our sale price after signing. Both conditions were met with yes, yes absolutely! To this end on signing day we so trusted Joe that we disclosed our reserve to him (and have written evidence of this). Once we signed the sell down began 2 weeks later and was constant and increasingly negative. When we stuck to our reserve of 2.6 million as disclosed on 2/9, right to auction day n 19/10, Joe’s behaviour was a lot less than polite and calm. We felt distressed, betrayed and deceived. So professionalism?? The house our buyers had listed as second favourite to ours was one we had sent to Joe weeks earlier and he scoffed at us and said it was not at all comparable. We did a private inspection of that house 2 days before our auction, and sought independent industry advice - we all agreed it was THE most comparable property on the market to our home. It was listed at 2.84 million. In fact there were no other home of the accommodation, quality, and location of ours selling at or below 2.6 million at the time Haydens Road went to auction. But Joe had said we should take a pre auction offer of 2.5 million from his buyers because “no one else will bid at the auction “. So market knowledge? We were told that nothing would be too much trouble, just let us know what you need. Then in the week before the auction Joe told us that he had never had so much communication from any client, and he had other clients to attend to, and didn’t have time to respond to us. (this was 5 days before our auction!) So communication?? Disillusioned doesn’t begin to explain how my husband and I feel pre and post sale. Our house in our opinion was undervalued from the start and undersold.

Joe is an amazing agent!

First saw Joe in action at one of his auctions and was very impressed. We engaged NJRE to sell our house - and had a great result! Then reconnected with Joe when we began looking for another house to buy. Joe was amazing as the vendor’s agent but, more importantly, worked hard as our advocate during stressful negotiations. Honest, efficient, very personable with a duty of care to his clients - sellers and buyers. It’s actually hard to see the demarcation line. We’ve had two great experiences this year with Nick Johnstone Real Estate. Thanks Joe, Nick, Katie and their Team.

Very professional, communicative and reliable

Joe was an absolute professional, keeping me constantly updated in what was a very time consuming and confidential process. It was a difficult property to sell and a great achievement in getting such a good result. He has also sold many other difficult properties for clients of mine. I highly recommend him.
