I had been wanting to sell my apartment for several months but can't put up with the usual barrage of calls from estate agents, so the first time that I bumped into Joel, he was walking out of the lift and I was walking in of our apartment lifts where we both lived and a quick chat revealed he is an estate agent. By the time we finished talking, he said he would let me think it over but I said I'm ready to sign the contract. So at the end of the day, it is the client that sets the selling fee/commission based of the effort and hard work provided by the agents. I asked Joel what if every client only pays the bare minimum commission, he responded that he is happy and grateful for whatever they decide to pay in the range provided.
