John commenced his Real Estate career in Caboolture & Bribie Island in 1970 and opened his own office in 1972 trading as JB Real Estate. In 1978 he commenced JB Developments and between 1978 & 1992 commenced building and marketing a number of shopping centres and subdivisions including Jetty Shop Inn, Bongaree Arcade, Caboolture Central and Morayfield Teven. He was also involved as a director owner and the developer of a number of subdivisions including Bribie Waterways Estate, Bribie Gardens Estate, Flinders Waters, Torrens Park, Bredsall Park Estate in conjunction with the development, JB Developments also owned and operated a building company, building up to 30 houses a year.
In 1976 John was one of the founders of the professional real estate group and carries on the business of JB Real Estate "The Professionals" until 1986. This business was sold and John was the partner in Caboolture Real Estate and Apgold with offices in Noosa, Bribie and Caboolture.
In 1989 John sold his business and purchased Happy Valley Resort on Fraser Island which he ran with his family. He then went on to purchase Top tours, thus being the foundation for the Fraser Island Company, now the second largest tour operator in Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. During this time the company took out a number of awards including the Qld Tourism award a number of times and finalists in the Australian Tourism awards.
In 1996 John moved to the Whitsundays where he was involved in a number of tourism businesses including Whitsunday Magic Dive Company, which had a fleet of dive boats, a dive school and hostel. In 1997 John owned and operated Hervey World Travel and in 1998 John started LJ Hooker Whitsundays and Airlie Beach. He purchased LJ Hooker Proserpine and sold all three offices in 2006. Due to his involvement in the Equine industry, John together with his partner Jenny Mann relocated to Gatton and purchased LJ Hooker Gatton in 2006 and commenced a second LJ Hooker office operating in Laidley in 2011.
John has been involved in all facets of Real Estate from selling, management, development, commercial sales and building. He has a wealth of knowledge and contacts within the industry and has conducted in excess of 1000 auctions including; residential, commercial, rural, clearance and chattels auctions.
