John Castran has never been one to follow convention. As a registered valuer, he spent the first decade of his career in Gippsland, developing expertise across diverse markets and properties. It was also from here that he first came across Dinner Plain—a region now synonymous with the family name.
Returning to Melbourne in 1985, John established Castran with the aim of bringing a different way of thinking to real estate. Shaped by his industry insight, multi-sector knowledge, and leadership philosophy, the agency quickly became known for its innovative approach, superior results, and dedication to providing a great client experience. A reputation that continues to this day.
With son Lachlan working alongside him, John enters his forth decade in property as one of Victoria’s pre-eminent real estate practitioners. Wise, forthright, and always engaging, he is held in the highest regard as an agent, analyst, valuer, and auctioneer.
John aligns his staff and customers not on ‘what’ and ‘how’ but the powerful ‘why’ are we doing this type of business.
