John was an exceptional agent to work with and guided us through the selling process very professionally. His communication was also excellent. This was critical to us as overseas residents who needed to rely and trust our sales agent and his team of experts in marketing, house styling and general sales preparation. We purchased our home from John 10 years ago and have now had 2 outstanding experiences and would not consider another agent for selling in our suburb.

John is very knowledgeable in both the area that we are buying as well as the area that we are selling. Many people said and told us that we shouldn't sell our property with the agent that we buy the new property from but we think otherwise. John is not pushy like a lot of other agents that we have dealt with and we like how John has always been upfront with the possible ugly sides of selling and buying. He constantly keeping us in the loop during selling so we have fair ideas about what the market is doing at the time. Many agents just simply telling you what you want to hear in both buying and selling just to try and earn your business first but John and his crews are all very polite, upfront and honest. Definitely happy to recommend him to any friends and families and certainly very thankful with everything that John and his wonderful crews have done for us again both in buying and selling. John McManus is truly exceptional. I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough. Nearly 2 weeks have passed since the highly successful sale of Dad’s house and I’m still finding it extremely difficult to adequately (let alone properly) express my sincerest appreciation for not only the sale price that John achieved, but also the manner in which he achieved it. The sale price achieved by John “screams” volumes in itself: - a new street record sale price of $4,955,000; - smashing the previous street record, set just a few months earlier, by $1.240 million; - the highest sale price of some 800 properties auctioned over that weekend; - one of the highest sale prices ever obtained for a house in Chatswood; and - approximately $1million higher than the estimates given by several other agents. To put the outstanding sale price achieved by John into perspective, it should be noted that Dad’s house: - wasn’t a luxurious waterfront mansion in an exclusive eastern suburbs enclave; - didn’t have a garage or a carport; - didn’t have a swimming pool or an outdoor alfresco entertaining area; - didn’t have established gardens or manicured lawns; - didn’t have air-conditioning, ceiling fans or even built-in-robes; and - nor did it have any other modern inclusion usually expected within that price range. Instead, Dad’s house was quite simply: - a relatively modest house; - in a fairly modest suburb; - still very much in the same condition as its initial construction in the early 1900’s; and - the only “improvements” made since then were all done in the late 1970’s, consisting of a cheap rear extension (detracting from the original character of the house), a kitchen renovation (now in a dilapidated condition) and a bathroom update (that could hardly be called “stylish”). Bearing those factors in mind, the sale price John achieved was not only truly remarkable, but was also well beyond any reasonable expectations. Kitchens and bathrooms don't sell houses - John McManus does!

Dealing with John and his team was as good as can be expected. The expectations were high and we worked hard to achieve the best result. We feel that John and his team were very supportive.

We recently sold one of our houses in Willoughby. John and his team had to negotiate with some difficult tenants access for prospective buyers (we sold off market) which made the process a little more complicated. He and his team did a great job and due their knowledge and subscription base, was able to sell out house after only one opening, and within two days.

We chose John because of his highly professional behaviour at opens we had been to. After contracting him, several other people confirmed his strong reputation to us. John and his team were regular and responsive communicators throughout the sale and clearly explained the process at every stage. We were very happy with their exemplary approach which definitely differentiated them from several other agents we have dealt with in the same market.

John was the agent marketing a property that we purchased in Willoughby recently. Throughout the process, John and his team were very open, transparent, and accommodating with respect to viewing the property and the vendors expectation on price. As the local housing market in Willoughby has been so heated, it had been difficult to get an agent willing to provide honest feedback on pricing, so it was a relief to be able to speak to an agent who clearly had the experience to bring both the vendor and purchaser together prior to auction. Even though we knew we were paying a very high price for our new home, it was worth doing, to avoid the stress of an auction scenario. Based on our recent experience with John, I would feel very comfortable with him as our future selling agent and would highly recommend him to prospective clients.
