Jon is a very experienced and knowledgeable agent. He communicated with us regularly on what turned out to be a lengthy campaign due to some factors outside of his control. He spent a lot of time behind the scenes following up buyers and making sure every possible lead was explored. Jon was an excellent negotiator and was able to bring the buyer up to a price we were comfortable in selling for.

Jon is a good agent, but was not as strong in a few key areas as other agents we came across when buying. I felt with another agent, we may have obtained a better result. Pros: At the auction, Jon was great. It didn’t go as well as we’d hoped, but Jon guided us well to get a good result with only two bidders. Jon’s assistant Bianca is fantastic. She was super responsive and assisted us greatly during the campaign. Jon was helpful in guiding us on what to do to get our property ready for sale. Cons: There were a few areas I think Jon could have been better. We had over 100 parties through the property during open houses, but only three registered bidders and two actual bidders on the day. This seems like a very low conversion rate. I wonder whether Jon could have done things differently to improve the conversion rate. For example, was the marketing and pricing strategy appropriate with such low conversion, or could he have been more proactive with follow-ups and convincing people to attend the auction? Jon didn’t attend the photo shoot, whereas he intimated he would. We were expecting him to be there to guide the photographer (the photographer did not seem expert in choosing or staging the best shots to take), and he just didn’t turn up on the day. Bianca tried very hard to help, but she’s not an experienced agent. It was quite unprofessional. After an open, our balcony door was left wide open (we weren’t living in the unit). This was also quite unprofessional. Jon apologised for this. I’m being tough with some of these criticisms, but buying and selling your property is the biggest financial transaction you’ll ever make. Okay isn’t good enough - you want excellent! And in the lower north shore there are a few excellent agents. I’d go with one of them if I had my time again.

We purchased our apartment from Jon and he was really proactive in keeping us up to date on the market and giving advice before, during and after we made the decision to put our apartment on the market. Once we went on market he was honest and transparent about what to expect and was committed to getting us the best price. We were happy with the experience and would recommend Jon to anyone looking to sell in lower north shore.
