We were completely misled by Julie and her team. We were given an unrealistic price guide for our home compared to other selling agents. Julie Mahoney will overpromise to get the listing, and once she has secured it, she will underdeliver. After choosing Julie Mahoney to sell our home, we were given a list of “issues” we had to rectify in order to achieve the best price. We wanted the sale to go well, so we addressed every issue. We paid a good deal of money to have the home staged with furniture which was again recommended by Julie in order to achieve the best price possible. Julie recommended we market the home $17,000 lower than her expected sale price in order to generate interest and competitive bidding with buyers. We agreed to her terms. Over the next 6 weeks we had over 40 groups view the home, but not 1 offer. Julie blamed the weather, the neighbours and the price of the home and recommended we drop it by $53,000. In total, Julie was wanting us to drop the sale price by $70,000 from what she originally told us she could easily sell it for. We refused. Our first offer was generated by MYSELF as the seller as I had been sharing the listing on social media and liaising with interested parties. Thankfully we then received a second offer which was $7000 under asking price. Julie Mahoney was pushy, overconfident and completely misguided. Her fees are just not worth the service you receive. Julie will overpromise, then come up with excuse after excuse. She will show up and be active in the process when trying to secure the listing, but once chosen – Julie takes a backseat, and her minions take over. Julie only ever reared her head to try and smooth things over when I complained to Ray White about the lack of communication I was receiving. Once we finally had sold the home (after 7 weeks of stress) I told Ray White that I wasn’t happy with how everything went down. They didn’t even bother to respond to me.
