We were led by Kelvin to believe that the property we purchased was good value for money due to having a 'rentable' granny flat built out the back and that we would be able to "get $250 a week easily" if we got someone to rent it out. We have only now found out that due to Queensland government legislation, we are unable to rent the granny flat to anyone except immediate family. The only other possibility is a costly development request to council which may or may not be approved. To say we were disappointed with Kelvin's misleading and manipulation is an understatement. Had we have known what we do now, we would not have purchased this property. The deciding factor was that we would be able to rent out the granny flat. We, nor any of our friends or family will NEVER deal with Kelvin again.
