Big change, and so far, so good :)

Our Simpson's Bay (Bruny Island) purchase was a very big moment for our family. It's a special property, so we are very excited to make our home here after decades of urban living. Understanding a property like this, and then undertaking the process to becoming its next stewards ('ownership' is such a dodgy concept!), was always going to need patience and care. From the moment we enquired over the Christmas break (and just prior to a family holiday on the Tassie east coast), when I assured Laureen that if we were going to inspect, it would not be as tyre kickers :-), we felt well cared for and considered. We understand that real estate agents walk a fine line between 2 parties; still, we always felt well and appropriately represented throughout the process. Our inspections were patient, time to contemplate didn't feel pressured, and the local insights Laureen was able to provide were very helpful (also, and importantly, her story of one day having made the same kind of transition we were contemplating, including the raising of kids and schooling and so on, was comforting!).
