Real, Helpful, Supportive in a changing market
Sell or not?
Mark Barton was candid and not pushy. He encouraged us to speak with other agents and set up inspections. That was different!
We were surprised at the range of selling prices - $500k difference from low to high. How can that be?
The decision the appoint Mark was easy. It wasn’t about being wooed by a high selling price, the fee, or slick marketing, or flash cars. It was about understanding our needs, market realism and supporting us, not ‘just’ selling a house.
Amazing support!
Notice to tenants was done professionally. The time to market was short, the market was changing, we had an insurance claim to navigate, and budget to establish. And we now lived 500km away!
Mark’s connections were so responsive with quotes, options and advice
Mark was not afraid to get his hands dirty too. When friends asked of our progress, they would remark “we’ve never known a real estate agent helping like THAT!”
The house looked wonderful when it went to market.
Timing was not ideal, but we were committed to the process and could still rent it out again should the process not find a buyer.
The initial responses came in, and it was slow!
We talked about ‘the ideal buyer’ and Mark was pragmatic as we discussed their qualifications. Most who had enquired were not 'ideal'.
Interest rate rises, and the threat of more, was not helping our cause and Mark kept reassuring us that we would know when the right buyer turned up.
They did! Well actually, …we had two!
The first got our attention, but we also had a cashed-up buyer as #2. We were committed to buyer #1 as the house really suited their needs best. Mark worked for us with real integrity.
It had been a seller’s market and it changed very quickly. We ended up as happy sellers, with the right buyer and a price way higher than some of the initial estimates!
Thank you, Mark Barton, for your calmness and dedication to achieve a solid outcome in a very finicky market.
