Professionalism, market knowledge, patience and integrity
Matt was very patient and informative in helping us to navigate the complexities of selling our house. We had lived in that same house for over 27 years and so we had very little experience with selling any real estate whatsoever. In a superheated market such as Sydney we initially had overly optimistic expectations but Matt through his deep market knowledge of the area, meticulous research and solid depth of experience guided us to a successful sale in only 3 weeks after the house was listed. From our earliest meeting Matt had noted our high desired price but respectfully pointed out what would be realistically achievable within our selling timeframe. He had the data from the open days, market knowledge and experience to back up his projections. It is a reflection of his personal integrity that he always pointed what was possible and realistic did not allow us to persist with wishful thinking with an unrealistic price only to be disappointed later on. Matt’s knowledge of the locale, and our street in particular was insightful (bordering on prescient!) and ultimately our house sold $10K more than what he predicted form the first day of listing!
Matt also showed great tolerance and persistence in bringing both parties to the negotiating table and ultimately coming through successfully with significant requests and compromises given on both sides. Every seller would always like more however but at the end of the day, I believe it was a fair and equitable price given the age of our “fixer-upper” property.
