Outstanding Sales Performance - Matt McEwan
We are extremely happy with the outcome of our property sale that Matt McEwan from McGrath's managed on our behalf. His attention to detail, and the serious way he treated us and our transaction, were exceptional. It felt like we were his most important client, traveling in First Class. In a rapidly declining property market, he developed and executed a brilliant sales strategy that worked, delivering us a price we thought was unachievable. His technical knowledge, communication & negotiation skills were exceptional.
Karen Terry also deserves a special mention for instantly creating trust between ourselves and McGrath’s. In 2019, she advised us to hang on to the property until after the remediation work was complete. and then referred us to Matt when we were ready to sell.
We were immediately impressed by Matt's calm, measured approach, offering a conservative yet realistic valuation assessment, in a market that was “going crazy”.
Then, just as we were ready to sell, the market slowed, stopped, and reversed. Matt communicated daily with us, helping arrange tradies/stylists to deliver the final touches to the property, and advising on the most appropriate sales strategy. He was also very careful to manage our expectations about the potential sales price, as interest rate hikes came in and auctions were being canceled due to plummeting demand. He built up a list of potential buyers and was constantly on the move, talking to buyers and arranging private visits and 7 formal inspections. After a tense 3-4 hour phone negotiation between three interested buyers Matt sold the apartment for more than twice the price we would have gotten two years earlier. It was a brilliant effort on his part and we absolutely recommend McGrath's and Matt to anyone wishing to sell their property.
