Absolutely atrocious
I have never had such a negative experience with real estate, from start to finish. I had to contact Meshel at least 8 times to even get an initial response about VIEWING the property. If I were the vendor, I'd be most unimpressed. Then, I was lied to about the strata fees being $800ish, when they are closer to $1200. The tenant then didn't leave on time, and my family had nowhere to live for three weeks. While this may be beyond the agent's control, his behaviour was childish. Any time I spoke to him, all he wanted to do was tell me how hard HIS work and life is, how hard done by HE was in the situation. He made it feel like any reasonable request or expectation was just "above and beyond." For example, I had to go to two different offices in two different suburbs to collect the keys, because as the SALES agent they didn't even think to get the keys from the leasing agent. Similarly, I was fobbed off to the FORMER leasing agent when the apartment had no water and a broken remote for the car park. These are things the sales agent should chase up, the tenant was gone, the lease was over. And again, when I asserted the basic expectation of a sales agent, Meshel was immature in his "poor me" responses at all times. This is the fourth property I have ever purchased, and I've also sold three. Meshel also tried to guilt me for "getting" a $500 cleaning fee due to the start the place was in at settlement. Bear in mind that it cost nearly triple that to get the place property cleaned up, because the walls were so disgusting, including liquid glue stuck to some of the walls in one bedroom. But I should just be so grateful to him for "getting me" the $500 allowance. We won't even mention all the broken lights and power points that were fobbed off as "just light bulbs' - which was not the case. This is one agent who I would never, ever go near again.
