We engaged Harcourt’s Frankston to sell my elderly parents house to finance their move into aged care. We decided on Harcourt’s as they have been the managing agents of a rental unit owned by Mum for the past 12 years and have been exceptionally easy to work with and great communicators (thanks Rebecca Quinn!). Natalie and Gerard came to value the house for us and were extremely kind and patient with my 96 year old folks. They chatted with Dad and Mum, didn’t hurry the process along and did not make them feel it was just a financial or business type of visit. Both Natalie and Gerard gave us great information on how to prepare the house for presentation, considering it’s age and the fact it was obviously the long time residence of older people. They were confident that they could help us achieve what was needed finance the move into care. It was imperative that it be a quick sale, shortest possible settlement and like all sellers, a maximum sale price was desired. Natalie kept that brief at the forefront of her dealings and drummed up interest with potential buyers before the house was on the market. The family were delighted when our parents house sold on its first open for inspection. Offers to buy were made at the open and we were kept informed of the back and forth offers, and counter offers, all afternoon and into the evening. At 8pm we accepted what we believe was a very good offer and I e-signed the sale contract (on behalf of my parents) before 9pm. Needless to say, we all slept well that night! It was a great relief that we did not have to prolong the whole process over weeks or months, which would have distressed my parents. I should add that Natalie has now also sold Mum’s rental property. It was always going to be slightly harder property to sell being tenanted for another 7 mths. She managed it in around 3 weeks and we could not be happier with both property results. A huge thank you to Natalie. A genuinely nice person and extremely good at her job!
