Poor experience for a first home buyer

Nigel was helpful in my journey of buying a home in the early days. I think he could have done better to help first home buyers. There was no electricity during pre settlement inspection. When asked if there was anything we should be aware of. The tenant and Nigel said there were no issues . This was clearly untrue as when we moved in, the bedroom walls were found to have massive hollow patches which appeared to be concealed which was not accessible to the building inspector due to existing furnitures. When asked about the patches on the internal wall, he didnot seem very cooperative. The house was meant to be bond cleaned but cleaning had left a lot of places. For example hairs on the walls, pee stains on the bathroom, dirty sinks.

Hi Suresh Thanks for the feedback. I think this is quite unfair. I see you have reduced my star rating from 5 stars to 2. Your Building and Pest Inspector should have picked up any issues with regards to the property and I would suggest you direct your questions to them. The purpose of the presettlement inspection was for you to satisfy your self that the property was in the same condition as when you entered the contract. You said on the day that you were happy. It was unfortunate that there was a Street Power outage during the presettlement inspection however you questioned the tenant directly on various issues and concerns. We negotiated for an early settlement on your behalf whereby you would move in the day after the bond clean was done. The Property Manager did the exit inspection. The Bond Cleaner refused to come back and clean the areas you weren't happy with so we got the previous tenant to clean. I was told you were happy with their additional cleans. In a normal scenario settlement would be two days after the Tenant has handed back the keys to allow for sufficient time to rectify. I hope you understand that I was not aware of the issues you remarked on. Had you picked them up at pre settlement we may have had the chance to discuss with the owner. I wish you all the best and hope that you can find a solution. Kind regards Nigel Lucas
