Great first impressions but that’s all
Pete was great on first impressions. He got our house up in the market nice and quickly. Unfortunately Taylor and myself found ourselves not having great confidence in Pete in front of buyers at the open homes. We felt he was always talking our house down to us as if he was preparing to lower our price... this was before our first open home. We were lucky enough to have a couple buy our house that attended the first open home. If it wasn’t for the wife falling in love with our house I’m not confident we would have sold with Pete. I understand when Pete was giving us the feedback of the people walking through ie no shed... but when he cominicated this information I felt like he wasn’t showing off the good points of our house and highlighting this to prospective buyers. I even had to tell Pete at one point I hope you don’t speak like this to the people attending i hope your focusing on what our house has to offer instead of agreeing with what it doesn’t. I personally wasn’t happy with our presettlement inspection. I got a phone call from Pete after saying it didn’t go very well and he accused us of vandalising our property - throwing a big bucket of bright white paint over the back patio... we’re along the lines of his words. I was quite distressed about this and went out to have a look after I finished work that night. I found it was not a big bucket of spilled bright white paint but a small patch of spilled bi carb soda which just needed dusting off. I was also told I had broken the law by packing my curtins up and if they couldn’t be put back up by settlement the buyers would be adjusting the price accordingly. We moved all our stuff into storage as Pete was aware so this was a difficult task to find them in the storage unit to be able to hang them back up... I was only aware that the blinds had to stay as only 2 windows had curtins in front of the blinds.
Unfortunately we paid Nvre and Pete a lot of money to sell our house but felt he was working for the buyer.
