Working with Peter on selling our investment property was seamless from start to finish. The communication channel was clear, concise and always advised us with our best intentions at the forefront. Not only did we get a top price for our property, Peter also advised and lead us through some more difficult elements of selling our property whilst having tenants on a fixed lease. Nothing phases Peter and I would most definitely highly recommend him to others as he was referred to us in the beginning.

When I first discussed the fees with Peter, he advised me that his agency offered a sliding scale commission structure ranging from 1.5% to 2%, with the flexibility for me to choose the rate depending on how satisfied I was with the service provided. However, when I received the formal contract, the commission was a flat fee, with no option for me to choose based on the service provided. There was no mention of the sliding scale structure I was promised. What’s more, the contract failed to disclose any marketing costs, instead using the vague term "at cost" without elaborating on what those costs might be. When I asked for clarification, Peter first said a marketing team would contact me, but later told me all marketing was handled in-house. This conflicting information left me uneasy. My property was only shown during one Saturday and one Tuesday open home, with some buyers not even qualified, including muliple groups $200,000 below my expected asking price. No price range was disclosed either, leading to more confusion. Just before signing the contract, someone knocked on my door expressing interest in the property, mentioning they had contacted Peter. However, Peter told them an offer had already been accepted, which wasn’t true—no offer had been accepted. This rush to close a sale made me feel that Peter prioritised a quick transaction over securing the best offer for me. Peter informed me my house had sold via a WhatsApp voice message, stating a higher offer had been accepted. I had not been consulted about this new offer, and I felt sidelined in the decision-making process. In the end, I felt misled and disrespected. Peter’s promises were not delivered, and the entire process left me feeling like my home was treated as a commodity, not a valued asset. I feel I would have received better service from a smaller agency that valued transparency and honest communication. I will forever regret listing with Peter and Ray White.
