I was desperately trying to purchase a new home. I had liaised with other agents where I had made over 10 offers on different properties, and where the sale price paid by the successful purchaser to be was up to $100k over the asking price/auction guide. Initially I felt defeated.....but then I got strong. After 16 weeks, endless open houses, private inspections, and endless phone calls/negotiations from agents with disappointing news, I was always confident I would find "the right house at the right price in the right location at the right time for the right reasons"....and that became my mantra! The reality was that I was a single parent, one income family trying to purchase in what I considered a non-favourable real estate market where I felt the odds were stacked against me at times, in that, real estate prices were skyrocketing (how could I afford a new home?), we had a change of government, rising interest rates, rising inflation, the banks tightening their lending criteria, war in the Ukraine, we are post covid-19 and what does that mean, my offers on real estate falling through several times, transport logistic and supply issues (if I was to renovate), to some very entitled and difficult real agents (not all)....the list was endless, and as a single women I sometimes felt defeated - and then I met up with Peter for a private inspection of a property. Unfortunately that listing didn't work out, but I was optomistic that 'the right home' was just around the corner - and it was! Peter had just listed a property that he said would be perfect for me. Within 1/2 hour I met Peter for a private inspection and less than 5 minutes later I bought the property. It ticked every box. Peter Georkas and his team (Meg, Luke, Jacob, Kim, and their wonderful photographer) handled the sale of our property making it as little stress as possible for us, and without wasting our time or energy. Our property is a bit unusual - 2 dwellings in the one title , and we had initially been with another agent. Peter and his team were much nicer to work with, and more effective. In particular: they helped us arrive at a good asking price (which was achieved), they actively sought potential buyers with real prospects and interest in our property, they kept us informed each step of the way including what they needed from us, and they didn't raise false hopes.
