Purchase of Long Jetty investment property

As the buyer I made a final offer to Peter... in that offer I asked.. "what is the price to get it off the market".... after to talking to the owner they agreed the purchase price and advised this gets it of the market. We were happy, glad with all the other stress in our life have this completed, we agreed to that price and requested all the paperwork from his office. However they kept delaying prior to the end of Friday for the weekend & rather than conclude the deal Peter took our offer and called all the other potential people. But the offer had been made by the owner and we accepted, this was a deal, agreed and advised by Peter in a recorded message. After thinking Peter was a honest person this completely changed my mind about him, I then put him back in the place, in my mind, of all dodgy real estate agents/car salesmen and that is sad for Peter/Property Central. It changed what was otherwise a nice sale into a bad taste in our mouth and I will always remember that. In the end it was the reason that we then gave the property management to McGraths rather than Property central. If you make an offer, if that is accepted then stand by your word and honour it otherwise thats all people will remember about you.

Thank you for your review, I am terribly sorry to hear you feel that way about your experience with myself and Property Central. I must say that I have worked long and hard in the Real Estate industry for many many years to build up a good honest reputation and pride myself on that. There was a misunderstanding with the final negotiations that I believed was quickly resolved. I stayed back till very late on the Friday night upon which the offer was accepted to ensure property was secured for you, with the contracts finally exchanged around 8pm that night. Throughout the process of exchange through to settlement both myself, the vendor, and our Property Management team were very accommodating to your needs as we knew the property was being purchased as an investment property and had intended on renting it. Myself and Jess in Property Management had meetings with you at the property for several hours to discuss options and best way to maximise the rental return and also arranged access for tradespeople to attend the property. Your advice to us was that you were giving the property to McGrath to manage as your best mate worked there and would look after it for you. We wish you all the best with your investment property and I am saddened that you feel that your experience with me was not a good one as that is certainly not the result I ever want.
