Married with 3 children, Rod started his working life with Westpac bank, before joining the Victoria Police force, where he worked for 14 years experiencing just about every aspect of policing and life. Rod has also performed around the country and overseas playing drums with his band, too much acclaim over the past 25 years. He also races go karts and is actively plays tennis, golf and has participated in many other sports.
In March 2000, Rod started his new career in real estate with a small office in Berwick, where he worked for 12 months before moving to Barry Plants Berwick, where he worked for nearly 10 years. During his time with this group, Rod won the Rookie of the Year award, for the best first year in real estate for the entire group and later went on to win the best performed agent nationally five times and was three times runner up for this award. Rod always featured very highly in the top listing and sales categories and built a reputation and following in the cities of Casey and Cardinia second to none for trust, honesty and service delivery.
Rod took a 3 year break from real estate and established a very successful solar power wholesale and later retail business, which he sold to his business partner in 2013. This business is still running successfully today.
Rod decided he missed the real estate lifestyle and dealing with the local community so he decided to open his own real estate office in Pakenham. “I missed the excitement and thrill of the chase with both listing homes for sale and finding the buyer who will pay the best price.” Rod spent and lot of time researching different franchise groups but believed the O’Brien Real Estate group was by far the most progressive in the state and offered the best possible training and support across the whole brand.
