Saeed is a very hard working and courteous agent. He is organised and punctual. He was recommended to us through family. He said to us that he would sell our family home for us, and he did. He dealt with us directly, but with the support of Brisbane Real Estate. We had a number of meetings to discuss our expectations, marketing strategies, and the plan of action. During these meetings we were not rushed, and there was enough time to discuss things. After the prescribed marketing/advertising time and a few weeks of open house sessions Saeed was confident that there were a few serious buyers, however no one offered near the asking price. As such and per our sales strategy the property was advertised for auction. We were told that there was enough interest to turn the interested buyers into actual bidders on the day, and therefore agreed to proceed. We met with the auctioneer and there was enough time to ask questions and know what to expect. "Unexpectedly", on the day of the auction there were not 4-5 bidders as anticipated, and the only bid came from one of the parties who had expressed interest previously but had not made an offer. This was just above the reserve price. We made a decision on the spot and agreed to sell. However, we felt stressed and rushed. The low sale price meant that we lost about 10 years of savings which were deliberately thrown into our mortgage to reduce our debt. We felt that the process was step by step as per a standard "protocol" rather than catered for our needs. We feel that the real estate agents use this protocol to get a sale; as the lower the market prices, the more activity for their business. To summarise; we paid for the agent who facilitated a sale, but at a low price. The buyers were happy, the agent was happy, but the seller's expectations were not met.
