Sam kept his cool.

In the early stages, Sam was very cordial and competent. Then a trying circumstance occurred: A previous agent found a client who made an offer that I, the vendor, accepted. When I informed Sam immediately afterwards he was not pleased initially but was never impolite. After 24 hours, during which the two agents reached agreement, Sam returned to his usual, cordial self. My wife and I were happy, while both agents were at least half happy. Shows the wisdom of "keeping one's cool".
