Unfortunately our dealings with Scott have been less than ideal and left a bad taste in our mouth for the purchase of our new home. We asked specific questions relating to compliance of the spa fencing and was assured it was up to code prior to placing an offer. The pool fencing was awaiting parts for installation at contract signing stage. However, things changed approx half way through settlement and we only happened to find out incidentally as we organised for a quote from a tradesman and there happened to be an inspection of the fencing occurring at the same time. There was mention that the spa fencing wasn’t compliant and so we reached out to Scott (multiple times) to express our concerns and requested to be notified of potential changes and kept across things as the spa and nearby area was an important part of the purchase of this particular house for us. Unfortunately there was no communication until the day of fencing changes to occur and we were unable to be involved in the process at all (despite also advising we would be happy to financially contribute for a nicer aesthetic result). The spa fencing looks hideous and like a cheap tradesman did it. It’s also been installed so close to the spa you cannot walk around the spa at all which has been very disheartening the final outcome. Scott was pleasant to deal with and did however go out of his way to deliver keys on settlement day to us when we were working and couldn’t otherwise make it within business hours. Upon moving in, we were very disappointed in the state of the house. Foil with cheese left in the griller, urine stains down the front of the toilet and more. When this was mentioned to Scott, our concerns were not acknowledged and Scott moved the conversation along hastily. Overall, we felt as though Scott certainly works for the seller and always has their interests at heart and as a buyer of a $1+million dollar property we’ve not been included or had concerns even acknowledged. Buyers beware!
Scott has a great knowledge and appreciation for the area of Happy Valley, Flagstaff Hill and adjacent suburbs. He was very approachable and always did his best to keep us informed of all progress. We were very happy with his service in finding the next owners for our home, who will hopefully get as much joy as we had for the past 24 years. We would have no hesitation in recommending Scott to anyone wanting to sell their home.
