I have bought & sold in the east 6 times & have always had a wonderful experience with past agents however I have never experienced anything like Simon's actions, firstly I purchased the property at auction, on the night of the auction i was the winning bidder so I advised Simon my parents were both deaf and would like to view the house( it should be a happy moment for me) Simons reply was " Pardon I can't hear you, get it ha ha" I was shocked, upset & disturbed, how can you make a joke of deaf people and their disability. Throughout the settlement period any communication was always short & arrogant with Simon he would never return my calls only to send abrupt emails replying to any concerns or questions I had. On my settlement inspection of the property it was filthy being empty 12 months, so i kindly reminded Simon via email politely even after his past actions to please prepare the property to be cleaned to his reply "yes it will be cleaned". With settlement fast approaching I reminded him again no cleaner had contacted me? his reply was " check your phone, cleaner has called your phone 6 times, check your messages" I was shocked at his email reply as I had my phone with me all day & not one call from Simon or the cleaner, so I had to pay $495 for a cleaner which was really unfair & unjust. Buying a property should be an exciting time however it was anything but a negative experience. Lastly, when settlement finally took place with the property uncleaned the final step was to collect keys to which he sent his staff to bring out, no car remote , no instructions not even a phone call saying congratulations, very disappointing & sadly that was my buying experience with Simon Doak.
