We listed our property with Belle Strathfield based on their reputation as the leading selling agents in the Strathfield area, and after having observed three auctions conducted by them, as well as having looked at a few other agents and auctions. We also took into account that Belle had quite a number of sales staff, several of whom were well known as very capable. Simon Furnari took the lead role in the sales campaign of 33 days, which started just after the lifting of the NSW Covid-19 prohibition on open houses and on-site auctions. The property was in a good position in a good street, but the house on the property was rundown. The advice that Simon Furnari and Norman So gave about campaign strategy was carefully explained and discussed with us. Their insights and predictions turned out to be absolutely correct, especially concerning the provision of guidance and information to buyers, the setting of the reserve, and the likely course of bidding. Simon was always readily available to deal with any questions and any issues that arose. The campaign devised by Simon and his colleagues gave outstanding exposure, and was pitched at a very appropriate level for the property. There were two open houses a week for four weeks, and then a final open house on the day of the auction. The first open house on a Saturday was very well attended by about 10 groups, just under a week after listing online, and after Belle Strathfield had contacted people who had been interested in other Strathfield properties previously sold by Belle. We could not have wished for a better result from the auction, which achieved a very high price, which I understand is at present the best so far in Strathfield for 2020. The high level of interest that Belle had generated and their work prior to the auction with potential purchasers led to a fantastic result.
