I would give 0 stars if I could. Our experience with this real estate agent was profoundly disappointing, and I feel compelled to share our concerns to help others avoid similar pitfalls. Firstly, during negotiations, the agent quoted the vendor a higher price than what we had agreed upon. This not only undermined our trust but also compromised our financial position. We had a clear strategy and budget, and this deviation was both unexpected and unwelcome. Post-sale, communication was virtually non-existent. We were left in the dark and had to initiate all contact ourselves. This lack of proactive communication was incredibly frustrating, considering the significant financial and emotional investment in purchasing a property. An agent’s role is to ensure a smooth transition, but we felt abandoned once the contract was signed. The agent also promised visits after the sale went unconditional but failed to arrange them. We were met with excuses and a dismissive attitude when we inquired. This broken promise caused additional inconvenience and dissatisfaction. Most concerning was the final inspection. The agent was away during the week of the final inspection and settlement, and this absence was not communicated to us. On settlement day, the keys were late due to poor organisation, and there was no communication about these issues. The final inspection is crucial to ensure the property’s condition before finalising the purchase. The agent’s neglect in this area, combined with poor organisation and communication, was both unprofessional and unacceptable. In summary, we expected a much higher level of service and support. The issues we faced—from the unauthorised price hike and poor communication to broken promises and disorganisation—resulted in a deeply unsatisfactory experience. For anyone considering working with this agent, I strongly advise looking elsewhere to ensure a smoother, stress-free home-buying process.
