Stephen and his team were very friendly, polite and professional throughout the entire campaign. Stephen in particular has a good sense of the market and sets the expectation largely in-line with the reality.
Stephen was forthright about the market and the unknown value for a property of our type (a 1950's monocrete) and location. That is, he never professed to possess knowledge where uncertainty existed about demand for a property such as ours. All that he/we were confident about was that the availability of a block with our desirable location, aspect and views would be extremely limited. Stephen was open to displaying our home at different times of the day to provide prospective buyers with a sense of the 'air', aspect, views and, as importantly, the light at different times of the day. In other words, he acted on the fact that our experience as occupants was important and unique knowledge. Displaying our home at different times of day gave us every opportunity to share this knowledge with prospective buyers. In hindsight, Stephen's advice to (a) not capitalise on a presumably valuable block and (b) let the market make its own assessment of its value at auction (rather than asking for a specific price) proved to be wise and beneficial to us. Moreover, as we did not need to sell, Stephen never suggested that we accept any offer that would cause us to lose single night's sleep. He emphasised this point a few times, particularly when it looked like no fish would bite. This was certainly appreciated, as it made us feel supported throughout. Stephen was sensitive to the reality that selling one's house is not just financial, it's emotional. And that we'd have to sleep well at night once we'd sold. It appeared to us that everyone concerned - vendor, agent and buyer - walked away happy and without reservations, which is as it should be. We feel very content and ready to start our next chapter. We hope that the buyers of our block enjoy building and living in their dream home!

We engaged Stephen to sell our house in Deakin ACT in Apr 2023. This was despite a cooling house market and a desire to build on the south coast. Our house had been rented for the previous three and a half years, and our tenants had recently vacated. Stephen provided one of three proposals we obtained. He wasn’t the cheapest, and he had quoted for the highest amount of commission of the three.
