We first met Therese & Jodie of Real Estate Cairns South while viewing a 3BR unit in a resort-style property in 2023. They were as professional as you would expect. We made an offer & from the negotiations we could tell that they were doing their very best for the seller, as expected. We also put an offer on the next door unit, at the same time, listed by another agent. From the offers, to contract, to settlement & occupation of the units, the superiority of Therese & Jodie’s service was in stark contrast to the experience with the other agent. Examples of this include: great communication during negotiations up to contract, follow up on repairs to be done by the seller & dealing well with a seller who was becoming less communicative & cooperative. Separately to the sale, the seller requested to stay in the property for 6 weeks after settlement while his purchase settled and vacated. We settled on a weekly fee & terms, all negotiated by & checked with us by Jodie. Jodie’s follow up lasted the full six weeks. For this extra work v Therese charged us precisely…nothing. Briefly, the experience with the other agent after contract & until occupation was poor. The unit had a tenant with a rental contract until 6 months after settlement. They had obviously not looked after the property. This sales agent was also the rental agent. We soon discovered there had been no regular inspections in the past year, the agent had not followed up the tenant about repairs that were due to the tenant’s neglect. In the month before settlement we had to ask the agent for a rental inspection, notice to remedy & ultimately a warning to terminate the tenancy. The tenant stayed on but when they moved the agent had not ensured the repairs & cleaning were done & keys returned. On the basis of our purchase experience we decided to give the sales listing of our old home to Therese & Jodie & we told them why. We listed a few months later, the exceptional service continued & we got a great price
