We purchased an apartment with the MGM martin agency and this agent Tony which was also managed for rent by the agency. During inspection hot water running, oven getting hot etc were seemingly working. However, the same things only work only for 5 minutes and then stop. The faults were convenient for the agency to make their sale. During the settlement period time, on asking about final inspection report when tenants left the agent said it was all clear and none of the documents were provided. Even though apartment was managed by the agency with 3 student tenants, the agency could provide us only 1 keys copy in which no letterbox key and other keys that belong to the apartment apart from main doors were provided. In person Tony was nice and accommodating and advised us to report the faults showing mismanaged property during final inspection and said agency will work it out. While when conversation was initiated by lawyer, he instantly replied in extremely rude message suggesting we are keeping settlement hostage. The whole purchase was made extremely stressful and finding out all key appliances don't even work after moving was an add-on to that stress. In my opinion, in a real estate purchase, treating purchaser with utmost disrespect by not supporting in any of the simple convenience and not maintaining the apartment to basic standards is extremely unprofessional and dishonest act by the agent. Going with a well-known agent and agency for our first purchase did not benefit us. We definitely came out of this experience that our novicey in the market was taken advantage of because of this well established agent.
