We found ourselves in a very vulnerable position once our house was unconditional three working days before settlement Tracey called us to inform us although we had asked for vacant possession of the property that had been tenanted they will be staying an extra month after settlement, with the possibility of 60 days. The contract that was drawn up and signed, it did have tenants details and stated end of tenancy the day prior to our settlement date again at this point she guaranteed tenants would be out as we are buying as owner occupiers. This isn't something we have ever done before we trusted Tracey had fulfilled our request for vacant possession and assumed that the end of term was in other words promising a vacant property. We had organised builders, removalists and deliveries for the date after settlement which we had lost alot of money on deposits as those professions need more notice to cancel a job as that is their living. We were left to find a place to live with a small child in tow and extend storage facilities for our belongings. We were completely mislead and Tracey withheld this information till after our contract was unconditional and further more three working days is not acceptable to tell a family that they have a house they cannot live in. We are so unhappy with how little my family was cared for or considered in this journey as buyers. I will certainly never ever use this real easte let alone agent to sell our property in the future or buy again.
