I had been Canvassing agents for a while and spoke to 5 agents total, Mike Lao seemed to be the only agent that cared and even though he knew it was going to be a difficult process and nothing straight forward because many believed that the sale would not be possible, Mike Lao believed in me. Mike even made an effort to sell part of the property to the neighbor as that would have been the easiest transfer. After the neighbor declined, we began the process of re-alligning the boundary to sell on the open market. Mike seemed to know my personality and handpicked an agent with expert negotiation skills and ability to maintain effective communication and overcome any problems throughout the whole process. Then it came to contacting surveyors, contacted 5. Only a few got back. I got in touch with a conveyancer that recommended a surveyor that was looking to charge $25k even though they both thought that re-aligning a boundary line was not possible. I sacked them both. Then I engaged a Robyn White Conveyancer and John C Bested Surveyor that was able to see the same goal at a reasonable price, they eventually got the job done. Wai Pene was handpicked by Mike Lao to maintain the sale, he did a fine job, overcame many obstacles along the way, it was far from easy, far from straight forward, we almost thought we had it whipped then the council threw another curve ball. Between me and Wai, we worked out a way of solving the problem with minimum fuss. Over this period, Wai received many phone calls from me on countless issues and managed to fix them all. Just when we thought we had it in the bag, a new issue came up over the fence. Once again, Wai came to the rescue and worked out a great solution that got the deal done. In all, this process took 6 months of blood sweat and tears. I thank Wai very much for that. I have no doubt any of Mike Laos employees have been picked from hundreds of applicants and clearly outstanding in their performance and dedication to their job!
