An agent for sellers and buyers
We chose Will as an agent because he had quite a few sales nearby and did not camp out overnight at our house to pressure us into signing. Will remained very respectful and considered in all of his contact and communication over the approximately six months we've been in contact. In many cases, one might take this for granted. But our situation was unique: we had multiple owners with frequently changing positions on selling, price, and ongoing works to the property. The unpredictability of the situation would have driven most agents completely insane. When preparing for an open house, will they encounter someone in the shower, an unleashed and slobbering dog, or perhaps some unfinished building work that was supposed to be completed five days earlier? Only time would tell! Rather than giving anyone a stern talking to or using a passive-aggressive tone, I can only assume that Will (and Mary) screamed into a pillow kept discreetly in a glove compartment. Despite numerous objectively terrible situations, they were nothing but cheerful, pleasant, and courteous.
Obviously an agent has an incentive to do this because the seller pays their fees. However, Will was also very, very accommodating with (potential) buyers. We felt very confident that he was very eager to sell the property because people would call and give him as little as 30 minutes notice for a viewing and he would inform us, obviously, and be there ahead of time. Irrespective of how hot the weather was, or how annoying we were as sellers, he was always incredibly courteous and didn't 'push' anyone in any direction. He forwarded us all info requests in the interests of the seller making an informed offer. He strongly suggested we do a building and pest ahead of time, because no one wants any surprises at that stage in the contract, but I suspect because he takes his role seriously and wouldn't want a hit to his integrity.
