Unfortunately when we first listed, based on market advice from Yvonne, we listed too high. We changed our list price a number of times despite the fact that we were being told we were on the money and did not need to change our list price. The market was telling us we were too high but we were always praised for the presentation of our property. In 11 months we had one offer and vague feedback that we were too high. After speaking to other agents who gave us realistic market expectations, we reduced our price further and Yvonne secured a contract very quickly. If we had been given realistic expectations when we listed, we would not have had to wait 12 months for a sale. We requested that no sale price be shown on our property after settlement, as we felt this was a breach of our privacy. Yvonne advised that this was out of her control and asked us to speak to our solicitor as she said real estate web sites obtained sale prices from the Titles Office. Our solicitor said this was not correct and real estate agents had control of showing sale prices. Realestate.com.au actually states that real estate agents have control over displaying sale prices. After entrusting the sale of our property to Yvonne for 11 months and also not changing to another agent but continuing to give her the opportunity to sell our property, we discovered our loyalty to Yvonne was not reciprocated, leaving us feeling extremely disappointed and very let down. An agent we consulted said there were 2 main reasons for a property not selling, either price or agent. We feel we hit the jackpot on both!!!!
