Reliable and responsive
Faraz was recommended to me by word of mouth. I had a refinancing done through Faraz, prior to this buying experience:
From the beginning of the buying process, I felt comfortable that he could understand every concern I had. The real benefit talking with a broker is that you can explore every option, without worrying about getting a biased assessment from a bank. Wanting to be informed, we did our own research where possible which was always similar or matched what Faraz shared with us.
We also did our own loan comparisons with public data. But in the climate we were in, interest rates were all very similar, so I can see that Faraz’s recommendation was based on reliability, customer service, getting a loan amount we need, while also getting us a great interest rate.
When we needed clarification on information, Faraz was very happy to speak to us. We appreciate that we could contact him or set up meetings/calls with him out of work hours if needed.
For the pre-approval, some things took longer than expected, and it made us nervous when we didn’t hear frequent updates (sometimes over a week or so at a time). But speaking to others who were in a similar situation to me, our timeframes were not unusual.
Once we had our pre-approval, we ended up buying within 2 weeks. Then the formal approval came through within a few days after that. That has been the fastest process so far! But that is probably because no re-assessment was required as the pre-approval was very recent.
He has also been amazingly proactive, recommending different services to consider. So this is a first-home friendly service, when you’re still trying to figure out your budget, when you need a conveyancer, connecting utilities for the home, insurances etc.
It’s been a whirlwind of a period to have bought during the interest rate hikes and house prices have been plateauing or confusing, (depending on where you’re looking). But having the finance process supported by Faraz has been a big help.
