Peter has worked with us on the finances on two homes we bought. When we began to look for our first home, somebody put us in touch with Peter and we had a meeting, which remained in my mind. He went through our finances with us and told us how much "the banks" would lend us. I was somewhat shocked at the figure and asked if he thought it was wise to borough so much. "Absolutely not," came the answer. "I can't see how you would repay this -- but here's what you can easily afford..." We knew then that we were in good hands. Peter took all the stress out of setting up the finances, and it was great to have somebody to talk to the banks for you. His advice was always reasonable and conservative. Our second home was bought at auction. We were the final bidders but offered well below the reserve. Hence, negotiations ensued, with the real estate agent of course telling us all kinds of encouraging stuff. It was great to be able to call Peter and get his input on what we could and could not afford. It might be worth mentioning, too, that this second home was bought in Melbourne -- we virtually took Peter "with us" when we left WA. Most recently, Peter negotiated on our behalf an interest rate reduction with our bank, saving us thousands of dollars a year and many, many hours, had we tried to do this ourselves.
Peter has helped us for almost 20 years with various new mortgages and re-mortgages. He has always got better deals for us then we could get ourselves. He is very quick to respond and explains things well, he is very knowledgeable.
