For over 20 years we have been associated with Harcourts Carrum Downs in the capacity of landlord and property seller. We have always been happy. In recent times we have had the pleasure to deal closely with our property manager Paula LESJAK, following the move of a long term renter to more appropriate rental situation. Life had been unusually difficult for Sylvie and I in recent times and to have Paula take the lead in so much that needed to be done to better prepare the property for rental was manna from heaven. We were keen to upgrade and replace much in and around the unit and, given minimal guidance, Paula swung into action with a minimum of fuss. The results were beyond our expectations. With quiet, good humoured efficiency Paula attended to all that was required from the outset to arranging a new tenancy. We were mightily impressed and remain eternally grateful.

I've rented quite a few times in a short period, all with different agencies, and honestly this experience has been something else. Firstly, instead of the professional, but short and to the point emails, I received a call from Jane in regards to the process. She walked through it with me very easily, and was open to a professional, but kind talk. This is rare, and is usually missing from most house rental processes. Both Nathan and myself are extremely impressed with how the process was handled, and actually treated like people looking for a home, rather than just a "customer". 10/10 Makes me extra glad we applied to this property.

When being approved for the rental property, the branch requested the bond and rent payment a month in advance was required to secure the property, well over a month before the move in date, which is fine and we understand these payments must be made at some stage. However in the contract, it stated these payments were required on the move in date. When this was questioned, we were were advised we must make the payment within 24 hours of being approved for the property to secure the property. This was confusing. Was the incorrect information put in the contract? Or were we requested to make these payments much sooner than required? The question was asked and not exactly clarified. It then appears that the branch mistakenly lodged our bond to RTBA for another address that we have absolutely no involvement with. We made the branch aware of this. No ownership of a mistake being made and no apology. Just received an email from the property manager 3 business days later, advising an error was made and the account will be reissued. So far I would rate communication and professionalism as pretty poor and hopefully it gets better.

Harcourts Carrum Downs have managed my property for the last 7 years and I have nothing but praise and thanks for the amazing professionalism and service they have consistently shown. Paula in particular has been fantastic. Wonderful communication has me updated as needed, however I have completed confidence in Paula's and Harcourt ability to make sure there is never any issues. I personally cannot recommend Harcourt more highly.
