With a long family history in Real estate, it seemed like a natural progression to join the family business in 2009. Prior to this, I have had some pretty amazing experiences including moving away and doing voluntary missionary work for my church. It was great being able to focus all my time for 2 years to helping less fortunate people! I also had the opportunity to spend 18 months prior to this caring for my mum who was terminally ill, which was a very special time of my life and it taught me how important the family unit is! In 2012 I married my best friend which by chance I met her through doing real estate calls down streets (Crazy I know)!! We now make the best real estate team and love being able spend all our time together! In my spare time I love being outdoors and playing any sort of competitive sport. My other passions are surfing, golf and playing the Piano. I have recently worked hard and received my pilots license so now I spend as much time as I can flying the views of Bunbury I'm convinced I've got the best job on the planet being able to work with my family as well as my wife. I also get to meet so many different people and have made so many lifetime friends with people and clients I have met through Real Estate. About Joel... After a tour in the Airforce flying the Prime Minister, I decided it was time to come back to my roots! With a long family history in real estate, it seemed like a natural progression to join the family business in 2005. However, not long after, I went on a 6 year hiatus fulfilling my childhood dream of being an air force pilot in the RAAF. This took me to many parts of the world, including a posting in Canberra where I spent 2 years as a pilot for Prime Ministers; Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd. As much as I have enjoyed my adventures, the pull of the South West was too strong. I have found myself back in my hometown of Bunbury, doing my best job yet - working with my family. Professional and understanding during difficult situations

Our initial introduction to Jay was through a mutual friend and led to a meeting at our home to discuss our plans for the sale of our house. Following an informative session with Jay our plans were put in place and the house placed on the market. Within a short time an offer, with which we were happy, was put to us and accepted. Unfortunately a family crisis occurred when our son was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away in a short time. During this time the understanding and empathy of both Jay and Josh was exemplary. From that time on there were some further complications which Jay and Josh were able to overcome leading to the successful sale of our house which lowered our stress levels enormously. Events after this seemed to follow the usual sale proceedings and led to a very satisfactory conclusion to our dealings with Barr and Standley

Very happy with the service we received

All of the team at Barr and Standley were very helpful and easy to work with. They responded to our queries promptly and accurately. We were very happy with the price agreed upon for the sale of the property and the sale progressed smoothly with good communication along the way. Jay had an excellent knowledge of the market and was very professional. Anrie his assistant was very caring and lovely to work with always responding quickly to my queries.
