Professional, responsive and easy to deal with
I had a positive experience working with Janine as my agent. She was professional, approachable, and helped make the moving process smooth overall. I appreciated her assistance and communication throughout the tenancy process. The only negative experience occurred on my move-in day (3 Feb). I agreed to move in on that date after confirming I had arranged gas, electricity, internet, and movers. Janine told me she had switched off the main electricity meter and taken a photo. After the movers finished, I discovered there was no power. A friend helping me checked the meter box and found it was actually still on. I contacted my electricity provider late in the day but couldn’t resolve the issue before they closed. I was exhausted, stressed, and unable to stay in the unit due to the heat and darkness, so I had to drive an hour to Leongatha to stay overnight. Power was only connected the next day after I followed up urgently. When I later discussed the situation, I was advised that checking the meter is the tenant’s responsibility. While I remained calm, I felt disappointed because I had relied on earlier confirmation. In hindsight, I could have double-checked myself, but clearer communication would have prevented the issue. Thankfully, once power was connected, everything proceeded smoothly. Overall, aside from this initial inconvenience, my experience with Janine and the agency was professional and positive.
