Who would be silly enough to try to sell their house in the middle of a pandemic lock-down? We were! Janet and I had no idea the lock-down was coming when Cathy and Baraka from Belle Property appraised our home. They impressed us with their professional approach and knowledge of the local market. The price guidance they confidently offered was not only significantly higher than other sales in the street but also rather more than other estimates we had been given. So rather than delaying our sale until spring as we intended, we were convinced to go ahead straight away. The team at Belle swung into action like a well-oiled machine. Leah and her team styled the house superbly. Joseph did a great job with the photography, showing the house at it's best. Ben put together a great video and even made Janet and I look look good. Then came the lock-down. We seriously thought about pulling the plug on the whole process, but Cathy was convinced that a successful sale would still be achieved. Her enthusiasm and energy convinced us to go ahead. The marketing through the website and Belle's data base created quite a ground swell of interest, but showing people through the house under lock-down conditions created a whole new set of issues. Open inspections were no longer permitted and personal inspections had to be individually booked. The team adapted by arranging virtual inspections and conducting an extraordinary number of individual one-on-one inspections which were limited to a single buyer with a single agent. Where a family needed to see the house, Cathy and the team took them through one by one, diligently observing all the rules set by the Health Department. True to her word, in just over three weeks, Cathy sold our home for a record price for our street and suburb. The sale price also just exceeded the high end of the original guidance she had provided. Janet and I would like to thank the whole team at Belle for a great sale in a difficult time.
