We didn't need to sell but when our property got vacant after our tenant left, we thought of selling our prestige water front property in Seaforth. I, alongwith my hubby, embarked on a research journey in the endeavor to find the best agent to represent us in the sale process. We started by looking at property adds in the area, shortlisting the agents by area and range and then met all shortlisted agents. We had developed a five by five matrix or an evaluation criteria in the process which included parameters such as local knowledge, passion for the area, total experience [years spent] on the ground, value system, cost to market the property and agency commission, etc etc and after talking to atleast half a dozen sales agents in the area, we selected Matt and his team to be our representatives in the sales process. From the start, Matt was very passionate and involved. He would call us almost every day [even on days we had no open homes scheduled] and give us an update. The days we had open homes, he would call us right after the open home and provide us with attendance details along with his understanding of potential buyers. This meant that we as vendors were always emotionally connected with the buyers. Matt was also very easy to deal with and was always ready to talk. This seems very trivial and standard but are key skills in an agent as trust me, the process is really stressful and during those times you need to talk to someone who knows what he is doing! I sold through Belle as I was looking at many properties and got to know Ryan as he was often hosting the inspections and I found him very friendly, helpful and likable.
