This was the third attempt at selling my property, and each time around it felt as though I had to really put a lot of work in simply just to get any information, any progress updates, and to find out what the plans were moving forward. Oftentimes it felt like trying to get blood out of a stone, and it was an exhausting process for me overall. The communication was average, and often only after I'd chased for information did I receive suitable follow up. Several times throughout after an offer had been made and accepted, I received emails that contradicted what had been said in previous emails and had me worrying as to the legitimacy of the accepted offer, where I stood in the process, and what was happening moving forward. Little elaboration or additional information was willingly given, and I found myself again chasing for this when it should have been made clear initially. For someone that's never been through the selling process before (and I had made this very clear to both the real estate and conveyancer from the start), it wasn't made easy for me as someone with no experience in this area. And to be frank, given that the real estate fees came to just under $10k and this commission is meant to cover costs, to provide expertise in marketing, negotiation, and facilitating the sale of the property, I do not feel as though the $10k was earned. Yes my property sold, but it was not money well spent for the service that I received. I'm glad this whole process is over.

With regard to pricing , Ianne suggested what she believed was a realistic price but was accepting that I believed I could ask more! I really valued this aspect because I felt I really did have a say in knowing what I had put into my property and what it offered beyond just the appearance. Throughout the long settlement time, Ianne kept in touch and as settlement was due to happened, helped me no end in organizing aspects that I needed help with, such as man power to remove a fridge. She was very encouraging and appreciative of how I had prepared the property for inspection and sale and I really liked the acknowledgment she gave me about that aspect. In a tough flooded market , Lindsay was very helpful in keeping us upto date with everything that was going on in Alice Springs and when he was doing opening's including Sunday viewings and who had shown interest and followed up on those interests.
