Here's a perfect weekend getaway on Bruny Island - over a hectare of coastal forest and bushland, just a short walk to Apollo Bay, where you can easily launch a kayak or tinnie from the beach.
On the block is a good dual-axle caravan with gas cooker and an adjacent rustic cabin with water tank - it's fairly basic but it does have an open veranda, small room, gas hot water heater, shower, bath and sink.
Accessed by a locked gate from Mulcahys Road, the block is only a few minutes' drive from the ferry terminal at Roberts Point, so you could get away from town on a Friday afternoon and pretty soon be warming your hands by the outdoor firepot with a glass of red, listening to the footy and ready to settle in for the weekend.
